Some brands don't need to be reinvented. They simply need to be rediscovered.

When Marketing Angle partnered with the team behind the revival of the iconic Double Circle COOP brand was made possible through the leadership of the Ottawa Cooperative Association, the objective wasn't to create a new identity. It was to honor decades of agricultural heritage while building a modern digital experience that would reconnect generations of loyal supporters with a brand they never forgot.

More Than a Logo

For many across rural America, the Double Circle COOP emblem represents more than merchandise. It recalls family farms, trusted products, hometown co-ops, and memories passed from one generation to the next.

The history of the COOP brand reaches back nearly a century, evolving through the Consumer Cooperative Association, the introduction of the now-recognizable Double Circle logo in the late 1950s, and its continued presence throughout farming communities for decades. More recently, the Ottawa Cooperative Association secured the trademark for the Double Circle logo, helping preserve this important piece of agricultural history for future generations. That history became the foundation for every marketing decision.

Building a Digital Front Porch

Rather than sending visitors directly into an ecommerce experience, we recommended a different approach. We created a clean, easy-to-navigate landing page designed to tell the story first.

The landing page introduces visitors to the heritage behind the COOP name, explains why the brand is returning, and provides a simple path to explore the new merchandise collection. Instead of overwhelming users with products immediately, the experience builds trust through storytelling before guiding them into the online store. The result is a seamless journey that feels authentic to the brand while supporting ecommerce conversions.

Heritage Meets Modern Commerce

Today's consumers, especially those purchasing nostalgic brands, want more than a transaction. They want a connection. By separating storytelling from the shopping experience, the COOP project creates room for visitors to engage with the brand's history before discovering apparel and merchandise that celebrates it. Every shirt, hat, and accessory becomes more meaningful because shoppers understand what the Double Circle represents. The ecommerce store isn't simply selling merchandise. It's giving longtime supporters and new generations alike a way to wear a piece of agricultural history.

Designed for Growth

The new landing page also establishes a foundation for future campaigns. As new stories, historical photos, community memories, and product releases are shared, visitors have a central destination that explains the mission behind the revival. It becomes more than a marketing page. It becomes the digital home of the COOP story.

Looking Ahead

Brand revivals succeed when they remain authentic. Our role at Marketing Angle is to build digital experiences that respect a brand's legacy while positioning it for the future. The COOP project is a perfect example of heritage meeting modern marketing, combining thoughtful storytelling, intuitive user experience, and ecommerce strategy into one cohesive customer journey.

Sometimes the best marketing isn't about creating something new. It's about helping people reconnect with something that has always mattered. And for the Double Circle COOP brand, that story is just beginning.
